Founded as a partnership between Jim Harten, Mike Gunn, and Joey Thomsen, Cruzer has grown from humble beginnings into a leader in the coatings industry! Each owner brings a wealth of knowledge and industry experience to the table.
Mike Gunn has over twenty years of owner/operator experience on a vast array of coatings projects throughout the United States. His previous projects include Prime Coatings Contractor for the Hoku polysilicon plant in Pocatello, Idaho, The Las Vegas Monorail project, as well as, several Multi-million dollar field coating projects for HESS Corporation at their Gas Plant Expansion Project and the Tioga Railway Terminal in Tioga, North Dakota. Because of our success on these projects Cruzer has secured a Master Service Agreement with Hess Corporation.
Jim Harten has been a successful business owner and operator for more than two decades. Backed by a degree in business management from Idaho State University and decades of experience, Jim and his partners have successfully grown a small homegrown residential exteriors business into a large scale, full service industrial coatings contractor. Not just a successful businessman, Jim is willing to get his hands dirty and work side by side with his employees on projects such as, fiberglass repairs on large tanks for the Simplot Company and hand prepping and painting field coatings in the oil fields of western North Dakota and eastern Montana.
Joey Thomsen has been working in the coatings industry for many years, with a strong eye for detail and a background in automotive refinishing and ground up rebuilds, Joey operates Cruzer's shop doing large coating projects ranging from literally miles of pipe coatings, to large vessels and everything in between. Some mentionable projects include shop coatings for stem pipe for hydro-electric dams, large pressure vessels for the energy industry, as well as, high temperature coating application for large industrial plants.
